PRAY TO OBTAIN A NEW PASTOR FROM THE F.S.S.P.
As most of us know, St. Stephen of Hungary Parish in Allentown, PA is currently without a pastor since the start of this year. Nearly two years ago, one member of the Traditional Latin Mass Community at St. Stephen's contacted the the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter to enquire about the possibility of them coming to the Allentown Diocese. Last year, a petition was sent to Bishop Barres to invite them in. During this time, members of the laity have met with both Diocesan officials and the FSSP to discuss this. It has become even more clear the past 2 months we've been without a pastor how much we need a full-time priest to have pastoral care of our community. We have reason to believe at this time that the last remaining significant hurdle to the FSSP coming into the Allentown Diocese is for Bishop Barres to give his consent. We ask everyone to renew their prayers for this intention. June will be here soon and a decision will almost certainly be made before then.
