The Sacrament of Penance is offered 30 minutes before each weekday Mass. Requests are also taken after Mass as time dictates.


And his disciples asked him what this parable might be. To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. And they by the way side are they that hear; then the devil cometh, and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved. Now they upon the rock, are they who when they hear, receive the word with joy: and these have no roots; for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation, they fall away. And that which fell among thorns, are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit. But that on the good ground, are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
COFFEE HOUR AND CATECHISM AFTER MASS
Visitors, please join the parish family for refreshments and fellowship in the social hall following the 10:15am Mass on Sundays. Fr. Pendergraft teaches Catechism to all ages for 30 minutes beginning at 12:30pm. 
SOLEMN PONTIFICAL MASS - BISHOP SCHNEIDER
On Sunday, February 11th 2018, His Excellency, Bishop Athanasius Schneider will offer a Solemn Pontifical Mass here in the parish at 10:15am. Following the Mass we will have a potluck/brunch and His Excellency will give a talk. There are sign up forms to assist with the brunch and set up for the visit of Bishop Schneider in the vestibule and downstairs. Please volunteer.
ALTAR SERVER PRACTICE
The first practice for the Pontifical Mass will be this coming First Saturday, February 3rd. A list of those who are serving will be provided at that time, but all servers will be required to attend the practice from 9-9:30 AM. The others will remain until 10:45.
FEAST OF CANDLEMAS
Please note that there will be Mass at 8AM and 7PM this First Friday, Feb. 2nd which is the Feast of the Purification or Candlemas. If you wish to have candles blessed, please bring them to the sacristy before the 7PM Mass. The blessing of candles and procession will only occur at the evening Mass as there is no choir to sing the morning Mass.
FEAST OF ST. BLAISE & BLESSING OF THROATS
February 3rd is the Feast of St. Blaise, Bishop and Martyr. On his feast a special Blessing of the Throat is given. This is the traditional Catholic flu shot, if you will.
