And when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow: and a great multitude of the city was with her. Whom when the Lord had seen, being moved with mercy towards her, he said to her: Weep not. And he came near and touched the bier. And they that carried it, stood still. And he said: Young man, I say to thee, arise. And he that was dead, sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Please remember to silence or shut off your cell phones when coming into church.

There is a coffee social each week after the 8:30AM Mass and potluck and catechism after the 10:30AM Mass on Sundays.

This Wednesday, September 14th, the Men’s Group in Honor of the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph meets from 7-8:30PM.

The Bishop of our diocese will be leading a special Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Prayer Procession on Saturday September 17th. The procession will leave from St. Catharine of Siena Church located at 1825 West Turner Street at 9:00AM. This is a unique opportunity for us to join with our Bishop and the other parishioners in the Allentown area united in prayer to end abortion and, in particular, to pray and sacrifice for conversion of the hearts of the Allentown City Council members to vote “no” on Bills 60-63, and in particular Bill 60 which seeks to institute a buffer zone that would restrict our peaceful prayer presence at the Allentown Planned Parenthood.

Also on Saturday the women’s Rosary and Altar Society meets after the 8AM Mass and will offer the rosary for the intentions above.

The Girls’ Youth Group will meet from 3-4:30PM on Saturday as well.
